The Girls at the Station
Jara, Alex and Miranda grew up in a juvenile detention centre with no knowledge of unconditional love. Jara’s birthday is coming up, and the three girls want to celebrate it by going to a concert of their favourite trap queen. However, they need money but have few opportunities for getting their hands on it. They meet up with an older girl from the detention centre, who now picks up adult men in bus station restrooms, and are offered an easy way to make money. They accept because they know there’s something men always want.

Juana Macías graduated in audiovisual communication from the Complutense University of Madrid in 1994. In 1999, she won the Goya Award for Best Fiction Short Film for “Siete cafés por semana”. In 2010, she was nominated for the Goya Award for Best New Director for her film “Plans for Tomorrow”, which won the Silver Biznaga for Best Director at the Malaga Film Festival. Her next feature films were “Embarazados” (2016), with Paco León and Alexandra Jiménez, “Under the Same Roof” (2019) with Jordi Sánchez and Silvia Abril, “Sounds Like Love” (2021) with María Valverde and Álex González, and “El favor” (2023) with Inma Cuesta, Diego Martín and Sara Sálamo.
